Top 5 Haunted Places in the US you Need to Visit

Do you love a good ghost tour and visiting reportedly haunted places. I’m not talking about those haunted house attractions that pops up around Halloween.
I’m talking about honest to goodness, haunted places. Places that people have seen, felt, and heard things that go bump in the night and can leave you scared.
If you answered yes, read on my friends because I have 5 haunted places in the US that you are not going to want to miss!
Here are my suggestions for some of the most haunted places in America. I have visited most of these.
I still need to check one off the list. Read on to see where I’ve been and where I need to go.
Haunted Hotel: Stanley Hotel – Estes Park, CO

Emma & I had the opportunity to take a ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel one summer. The tour was filled with great stories of hauntings and the tour took us on a pretty thorough exploration of this old historic hotel.
I mean, this is the setting for The Shining. That alone will send chills down your spine.
If you ever find yourself in Estes Park, CO I HIGHLY recommend taking the ghost tour. Just be sure to book tickets well in advance because they can and do sell out.
Haunted Asylum: Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum–Weston, WV

This massive property has a laundry list of reported hauntings. Walking through the halls gives you an eery feeling.
After a bit of time in the building, it becomes pretty understandable why so many people have paranormal experiences within these walls.
The Trans-Allegheny isn’t really on the way to anywhere so most likely this will be a drive out of your way but it is completely worth it if you find yourself anywhere near Weston, WV.
Haunted Prison: Eastern State Penitentiary–Philadelphia, PA

Reportedly one of the most haunted places in the U.S., which means we had to visit. Take a self-guided audio tour and spend time looking for apparitions and cold spots.
Sadly, we didn’t experience any paranormal activity, but we still enjoyed our visit.
I’d love to go back with an experience paranormal investigating team and explore the area more.
Haunted Tour: Salem Ghost Tours–Salem, MA

While it’s not a haunted building, but more of a walk around town visiting haunted places, it is well worth a visit.
One of the best ghost tours we have been on. The Joshua Ward House in Salem is reported to be the most haunted in the area.
Haunted Asylum: Waverly Hills Sanatorium–Louisville, KY

It is reported that Waverly Hills is one of the most haunted places on Earth and is the one place I haven’t been able to take a ghost tour yet.
Every time I try to go the tickets
It honestly makes me a bit wary just looking at the photos. I hope I’m brave enough to step through the doors when I finally do secure those tickets.
