Get Your Scare On With A Trip To Haunted Baton Rouge

Haunted travel is fun any time of the year. There is nothing that says you have to wait for Halloween or October to roll around to get your ghost hunting on. Simply go to “haunted” locations any time of the year and see if you can experience any paranormal activity.

However, the fall does seem to bring out a lot more haunted activities including in Baton Rouge.

The good news is that Baton Rouge is a good spot to try your hand at visiting haunted places throughout the year.

I found three places that definitely make Haunted Baton Rouge a must-visit.

HAUNTED BATON ROUGE

Louisiana’ Old State Capitol

I love visiting this building. The first thing you should do is watch the movie about why the building is considered haunted.

Created by ex-Disney employees this movie is very well done and so entertaining, it’s more an entire experience more than a movie.

After watching the movie, wander through the halls and learn more about the history of Louisiana’s capital.

Be sure to walk up the stairs to see the gorgeous stained glass work and get a closer look at the dome.

Stories shared by the capitol’s night watchman lead me to believe that there is some paranormal activity taking place in the building.

I couldn’t get any of the daytime staff to share any ghostly encounters.

Maybe the ghosts are most active during the witching hours.

New State Capitol Building

This is the tallest U.S. Capitol building in the United States with 34 floors.

Built under the direction of Governor Huey P. Long in 1932 who demanded that it be the biggest building in the state and that no other building could be taller than it.

Mr. Long was well-loved by the people and was a bit of a jerk, which may have led to his assassination in the very building he built in 1935.
