Trolley tours begin at My Just Desserts, in the historic Simeon Ryder Building.

Dating to 1845, the building served as a courthouse during the 1800s and saw cases tried by the young attorney from Springfield, Abraham Lincoln.

The evening haunted tour begins in the second floor meeting room, where ghost hunting tools are active and orbs are abundant.

Vintage Voices Tour at Alton Cemetery

Step back in time and meet a controversial publisher, war heroes, the annual Vintage Voices and more! This long-standing tradition features some of Alton City Cemetery’s most notable members.

The October tradition will continue in 2023 with guided gentle-walking tours to visit different stops and meet actors as they portray prominent persons from Alton’s rich history. Tours will leave from the main gate of the cemetery (Vine & 5th) at Noon.

Although the focus isn’t on apparitions and ghosts, its a good history lesson and who might be haunting the town of Alton.
